It's been awhile. My lovely job has been eating up all of my time...including my Sunday so I thought I'd get in another post before a VERY long Sunday. I'm hoping to re-do our guest bathroom as I'm not a fan of the formica and linoleum "tiles" of its current design. In looking for things to replace our currently very-outdated design, I was going for a spa type feel. This is what I've come up with thus far. What do you think?
1. Vanity with Carrerra marble top 2. Tiny Hexagon tiles 3. Bathroom mirror 4. Stacked apothecary jars 5. Pretty Benjamin Moore Paint color
I'm a "scientist" by trade, but my real passions are photography and anything having to do with decorating and creativity.

Blissful Bedroom
Since my husband and I recently bought our first house, I've been slowly decorating each room to make it feel like home. Our bedroom is probably the room I've neglected the most. I've been searching for the perfect duvet for months now. I'm in love with all white bedding and would absolutely LOVE to climb under an all-white, fluffy, super soft duvet cover like the one below. There's one slight problem. My favorite furry friend, Callie, affectionataly known as Boogie. We call her that because of the slobber she leaves everywhere...making all white bedding a, sounds great but in reality terrible idea. I'm in love with the textures of this bedding. It gives the all-white look just enough dimension but still makes you feel like you're climbing into a fluffy white cloud every night.
Given that there's no chance that Callie is going to sleep on the floor anytime soon (she rules the bed and often leaves me with little to no space), I think that this is a slightly less heavenly, but much more practical, choice. What do you think?

A MUCH needed getaway
I've been taking q4 call for a month and am going to q3 call going into February so let's just say I really need/will need a break after 19 straight days of work. (for those of you not lucky enough to have done call, q4 call means that every fourth night, I work 30 hours straight without sleep and often without dinner for that matter). This weekend, Mike and I are going to the Fontainebleau, a history Miami beach hotel. I've been shopping around for cute things to bring on my trip. Below are a few things I've had my eye on. Now if only I had time to go to the stores to buy some of these things!

Some fun ways to celebrate the holidays
Anyone who knows me well knows that I absolutely LOVE to decorate for the holidays. Be it Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentine's Day, or Easter, I love them all. A house that's decorated for the holidays reminds me of fun things to come when I get home from a long day in the hospital.
For my first two posts I wanted to share with you two of my new favorite, very versatile ways to decorate for the holidays. Up first...The Write Plate. I've been asking my mom for one of these for almost a year and she finally got me one for my birthday. I was SO excited. Unlike most doctors, one of my strongsuits is my handwriting and I love lettering. What a more perfect way to share a message or decorate for the holidays than The Write Plate. It comes with a marker to share your message and you can buy all sorts of ceramic "toppers" to go with each holiday. You can even change the ribbon to match!
